Description of the flag

The eight-rayed sun is inscribed on an imaginary square wide 5/6ths of the width of the central, white, stripe of the vertically three-stripped 1:2 flag. The construction of the this device itself is self explanatory, it consisting of five square blocks placed 1+3+1 notched in 90°.

According to Jiri Tenora [jtn02], the sun symbol on the flag of Udmurtia is supposed to ward off fate.
