Overview

I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department. This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Here is the flag of Chipaque (in Oriente (=Eastern) Province).

The flags of Chaguaní (Magdalena Centro) and Chipaque (Oriente) are similar, but the meanings of the colours for each one is different:
For Chipaque - The upper part, in green, signifies the hope of progress for the people and her rustic and fertile landscape. The lower part, in yellow, signifies the wealth that is locked up in all its aspects. The white triangle, means peace and tranquillity in rule.

From <www.cundinamarca.gov.co>:
Felipe Carrillo, 20 November 2004
