Overview

Chaguaní is at Magdalena Centro (Central Magdalena) Province, Cundinamarca.
Felipe Carrillo, 12 April 2002

I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department. This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Above is the correct flag.

The flags of Chaguaní (Magdalena Centro) and Chipaque (Oriente) are similar, but the meanings of the colours for each one is different:
For Chaguaní - The upper part in green symbolizes nature. The lower stripe in yellow symbolizes the wealth of the territory (the white triangle has no meaning???).

From <www.cundinamarca.gov.co>:
"Tiene dos franjas horizontales, de tres tantos de larga y dos tantos de ancha.
La parte superior de color verde simbolizando la naturaleza.
La franja inferior de color amarilla representando la riqueza del territorio.
Un triángulo blanco tiene uno de sus lados extendido sobre el asta y la punta en el centro de la bandera."
