Ryptsjerk village (Rijperkerk)
Flag: a red hoist and a blue fly; the division-line is edged; in top hoist
a white swimming duck.
In the past a lot of peat-digging was going here. There were also some
duck-cages. At present cattle-breeding is the main source of income for
the Ryptsjerksters. The ducks in chief of the coat of arms and the canton
of the flag remind of the duck-cages. The irons of the scythe in base of
the CoA represent the agricultural sector. The edged divisions represent
the grass and the sharp scythes.
