Oostdongeradeel: introduction

Flag: "Blue a trice waved white fly-wise bar with in the top hoist a yellow lily, and in the lower fly three bundled corn eaves whereof one standing and two bent." Adopted 17 Dec1963; modified 7 Jul 1964, abolished 1984.
Oostdongeradeel is in northeast Friesland, northeast of Dokkum. It's an agricultural region, since 1984 part of the municipality of Dongeradeel.
The white wavy diagonal on the flag symbolizes the former river Dongera, which separated Oost- and West-dongeradeel. The lily might have been added because it looked nice and the three ears symbolized fertility.
