Overview

The community of Novigrad Podravski is about 15 km SSE of Koprivnica with about 3300 inhabitants. The CoA and the flag are described in the statutes of 2001 issued in the official gazette (avilable on <www.glasila.hr>):  Statut Opcine Novigrad Podravski, 24. rujna 2001, Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, br. 10/01, god. IX, Koprivnica, 28. rujna 2001. They must have been adopted somewhat earlier, say about 1995. At least I have seen it used on the road signs at the entrance into the community in 2000. The community site showes it, too: Opcina Novigrad Podravski, <www.novigrad-podravski.hr>.
The coat of arms is Gules, a Castle with a Tower embatteled Argent isuant from a Base Vert and on it a barrulet wavy of the second. The castle is so called Barun Scholten Tower (kula barnua Scholtena), and the wavy line refers to creek Komarnica. The flag is white with the coat of arms next to the hoist.

Approved by Ministry of Administration 13 July 1995. Designed by Draženka Jalšic Ernecic, art historian from Koprivnica. The flag is prescribed by the 2001 Statutes to have the coat of arms next to the hoist, while the flag shown on 2003 exhibition, and therefore also its photo in [ern03] has the coat of arms in the middle. Not that only, but the description of the flag in [ern03] states that the coat of arms should be in the middle.
