Meaning of the flag

The leaf should convey the idea that Limousin is a Region where nature is very important, 'nature is future' so to speak. The leaf outline is on the right handside more rounded (nature and tradition) than on the left handside where it is pixel-like, thus symbolizing technology and progress. The red 'L' over the leaf stands for Limousin of course.

Philippe-Pierre Darras, 18 January 1999

Flag of the Regional Council

There is no inscription on the Region flag. However Conseil Régional de Limousin appears on that institution's logo-flag.
