Brazilian soap opera "A Indomada" is set up in the fictional town of
Greenville (Pernanbuco state,
Brazil), inhabited by british descent brazilians. That ancestry
is clearly shown in most family names; in english, or english based,
idiom expressions; in the town's patron, Santa Margarida da Escócia;
and... in the town's flag.
It is often seen in scene together
with the brazilian flag and the Pernanbuco state, mainly in the
local courthouse balcony and in Judge Mirandinha's office. It's
based on the British flag, being the background green and the St.
George's cross yellow. There's also a coat of arms in the middle, but
I couldn't get a good look at it yet...
The UJ pattern is not unusual among brazilian municipal flags.
