I received today a copy of "Ceremonial Maritimo de la
Armada del Ecuador". according to this booklet, national
flag is always with Coat of Arms and has a ratio of 2:3 (this
confirms official website). The national flag is also used as
Naval and Merchant Ensign.

According to Album 2000 [pay00]
- National Ensign (---/--W (2:3)) - This is the national flag in
2:3 ratio for use the the Navy. Note explains that the same is
used as Presidential Standard, and in ratio 1:1 as Ceremonial
Colours.

The Flaggenbuch (1939-41) [neu92]
section dedicated to Ecuador do not show it. The ensign without
coat of arms is shown as "civilensign, national ensign for
private citizens".

[cra89] (p.121): "Ecuador,
Jack - Blue with a condor and foul anchor all white".

According to Album 2000 [pay00]:
Jack - Blue flag with white cabled anchor topped with a condor.
Previous issue of Album agrees with this, as well as Crampton's [cra90f]. Znamirowski [zna99] on p. 95 states that the jack
is the same as the national flag (I guess he means the CoA-less
flag). This is cerainly not correct, at least not any more.
However, it may be that it was so before introduction of the blue
jack, since [gmc17] also gives the
Ecuadorean tricolour (ratio 2:3, w/o Coat of Arms) as the jack
(to be seen in [zna99] on p. 97
too).

Masthead pennant - Triangualr pennant vertically divided in
yellow, blue and red, ratio apparently 1:10, stripes ratio based
on measuring of the image in Album 2000 is 35:30:35.

National Geographic (1917) [gmc17]
has similar pennant, but it is trapezoid, and with different
ratio of colours.
