This is interestingly similar to the houseflags of Borchard
Lines Ltd. and Lucy Borchard Shipping Ltd..
Any idea of the reason for such similarity? Were these three once the same
company?

Flensburger Schiffbaugesellschaft mbH & Co. KG: A blue flag with
a thin yellow saltire, centred on it a large yellow disc bearing the blue
letters F (top) and SG (bottom); a hoist stripe, vertically striped blue-white-red.

1911 Lloyd's flagbook, whose full title is (after the scan of the cover):
'Lloyd's book of house flags and funnels of the principal steamship lines
of the world and the house flags of various lines of sailing vessels',
published at Lloyd's Royal Exchange. London. E.C.
On p. 133, we have: #2036. H. Folsch & Co., Hamburg. The
flag is white with black letters H.F.

Reederei Herhard Frommann und Söhne GBR: Light blue with a white cross
throughout fimbriated black. A white square lozenge fimbriated black in
the center of the cross with the letter 'F' in black.
