Description

Red-yellow stripes, adopted 06.02.1975. Black and white stripes would have been the more logical choice, in my opinion. Sources: Linder and Schmidt 2000, arms image from Stadler 1964-1972.

Stefan Schwoon, 4 October 2001

From Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website:

The new arms were granted on July 26, 1974 (...) and combine the Zollern arms, now in the chief, with symbols for the two former urban counties of Selb and Martkredwitz. The eagle is taken from the arms of the city of Marktredwitz, whereas the deer is derived from the arms of the city of Selb.

Literature: Stadler and Egloffstein 1990.
