The flag and coat of arms of Pacho (Cundinamarca), capital of
the Rionegro Province, thanks to a friend that has a page on the
town in which he lived for a long time (<usuarios.lycos.es/usataque/simbolos.html>)
and here is the description:
Flag: composed of three horizontal stripes of same size. The
upper one blue, representing the dome of the sky, the waters, the
ornament of virtues and values of spirit. The middle one, white,
as symbol of honesty and peace. The lower, emerald green, symbol
of hope, feith, honor, friendship and open space in the fields.
Aditionally, in the center it will have the coat of arms of the
municipality either printed or embroidered.
Coat of Arms: The shield will be coated with two flags of the
municipality whose staffs will be crossed. The upper right over a
background of Gules tincture (red: means effort and sacrifice of
every remarkable human work, the creating and purifying fire as
well as blood poured in the whole history of the municipality),
displays two figures in argent (wealth that work produces): an
anvil (the iron industry and the sociocultural value of the
discipline in which the the emblematic character of the highest
human values were tempered) and a gear (the proyection that
metalmechanical industry is called to have, the recursive
laboriousity and the industrious vocation of the Pachunos
The lower [it seems it is the upper. C.T] left, tinctured in Azur
(blue: symbolises the past or the historical background, the air
of the mountains, the sky, trascendence and hope, finality, and
background for the fruits), representes a branch with three
oranges (the most famed fruit of the agricultural production).
The lower part, drawn in Chevron or courtain and field in argent,
with a vertex pointing to the heart [navel?] of the shield,
representes in tincture Vert (openness, friendship and geological
wealth of the soil) the figure or the Romeron pine (autoctonous
species of conifer that simbolizes the robust structure and
firmness of human characters).
Blazon: Per chevron and chief per pale, 1) Gules a gear and an
anvil argent; 2) Azure a branch with three oranges proper(?); 3)
of the second a romeron pine vert.
