Niel is located in the arrondissement of Antwerp.
The flag is made of seven vertical yellow-red stripes (like the flag of Mortsel), with a yellow letter n placed in the upper part of the second red stripe.
The flag was adopted by Municipal decision 30 December 1986, confirmed by Ministerial decision 9 September 1989.
