Department of Forestry has a flag registered with the South African Bureau of Heraldry on 14 Apr 1971 with the following description:
"Flag (for use on official vehicle of Secretary for Forestry): On a circular field Vert with a border Sable, an
equilateral triangle Argent edged Sable with sides curved outwardly, touching the circumference  and thereon  a  tree Vert and beneath the triangle two axes in saltire Argent, the whole surrounded by an  edge Or and  placed on a rectangular field Vert (bottle green).
The name BOSBOU DEPT. FORESTRY appears in letters Sable on a scroll Argent outlined Sable below the circle".

Department of Interior and Immigration

Department of Interior and Immigration previously used a flag registered with the South African Bureau of Heraldry on 10 Aug 1979 with the following description:
"Per Scandinavian cross silver and blue, a cross moline counterchanged, charged in the centre with four staves  couped, alternately  silver  and  blue, banded orange".

National Intelligence Service

The National Intelligence Service used a flag registered with the South African Bureau of Heraldry on 3 Apr 1987 with the following description:
"On a blue flag, proportion 3 x 2, a white pile charged in the hoist with a plume of three blue peacock feathers, oscillated proper, the quills orange, surmounted by two blue wolf hooks addorsed".

Department of Water Affairs

Department of Water Affairs has flag registered with the South African Bureau of Heraldry on 17 Aug 1990 with the following description:
"A rectangular blue flag with proportion 3:2; a white hoist third ondoyant, to the fly at the top and to the hoist at the bottom, charged in the canton with two pairs of green stylised leaves conjoined at base and ensigned with a blue gutta (= drop of water)".

South African Secret Service

South African Secret Service : flag registered with the South African Bureau of Heraldry on 19 Nov 1996 and described as:
A rectangular flag, proportion 2:3, the upper half fir-twigged of three, with three vertical panels, the lower quarter of the central panel per chevron, counterchanged in white and green, charged in the lower centre with a compass rose, facetted in red and black, with the pointer flory, the outer petals red and the inner petal black.

Department of Water Affairs and Forestry : flag registered with the South African Bureau of Heraldry on 26 Mar 1998 and described as:
A rectangular flag with the proportion 2:3, comprising three vertical bands of green, white and green, respectively 2/5, 3/5 and 2/5 of the width of the flag, the white band charged with a trowel-shaped  tree surmounting two others in fess conjoined, Vert, all voided.
