Vanuatu Districts' flags, according to Flags of Paradise 1996. Unfortunately, I have very few information about these flags. The only thing I can add to the image is that all of them are from circa 1983. I know that a book about Vanuatu flags was edited in the past, maybe there is more information there book than on the flag chart I used.

The flag in the canton of the Santo Malo District is at odds with all others I have been able to locate. Most images show a single member gold [yellow] "Y" in the center. However, the canton of Santo Malo has a "split yellow Y". Does any one know why? Is this just a variation? Did the flag chart have a printing error?

While drawing this flag, I also noticed the difference with the Vanuatu original flag but thought this was deliberate. After having sent the image to the list I took a look at the flag chart and I noticed that the flag of Vanuatu also has the "split Y". Can people who have other sources for these flags confirm which version is the right one so that I can correct the image posted?
