Overview

Tonight, seeing the news, I saw an act of "Gente del Petróleo" ("Petroleum People": a group of the Venezuelan Petroleum Organizatión - PDVSA involved on the recent situation) on Cabimas Municipality, Zulia State.
In this act, appears a Flag in prominent site. It was not the Zulian, nevertheless looks a sub-state territorial flag, that's to say, a municipality one. Since the act were on Cabimas and the Municipality Mayor were there, I'm supposed that it was the flag of that municipality.
I'll go to describe the flag, according to which I saw on TV and could note on my notebook. It's a field with approximate ratio 1:2 divided on three unequal and horizontal stripes: sky-blue, green and black (the sky-blue with double of wide of the rest. On the center of the blue stripe we can see a yellow half circle, that could be a sun. I'm not sure that it haves rays or not, but I'm suppose that if it haves, it had to be short. Inside that sun and lowering until the black stripe, we can appreciate a figure that looks like an oil-tower. I'm sure that is ionexact the number of beams of my image of the tower, but I thing that is approximate to the real one. The chromatic shades used on this flag seems to reinforce the incredible tendency demonstrated by another states and municipalities, prefering combinations which contains blue and green like happens in the cases of the States of Miranda, Portuguesa and Barinas, sometimes including too the yellow, like in the cases of Bolivar, Guarico, Falcon and Apure. In the same way, its reinforces the use of the sun like predominant symbol in Venezuelan Vexillology, at least in some reports we have sended until now (like  appears in the States of Zulia, Lara, Cojedes, Portuguesa, Aragua, Barinas, Carabobo, Miranda, Nueva Esparta, Vargas, Yaracuy and Monagas, or in the Municipalities of Araure, Lecherias, Ureña, Torres and Zamora), without mention its heraldic use, that also has presence on flags.
Like peculiar data, it's necessary to say that the Andean States and Municipalities seems prefer the star like predominant symbol. I don't know the reason of this.
