Melbourne Yacht club (MYC) is based in Melbourne, Florida (not Australia!), on the south side of the Melbourne Harbor, a brackish-water "hurricane hole" at the mouth of Crane Creek. The creek empties into the Indian River Lagoon, which offers approximately 100 square miles of the best sailing waters on the East Coast. MYC was reborn in 1947 and is today a dinghy sailing club with some 150 families as its members.

The MYC Constitution says:

Article 3. Club burgee.
The club burgee shall be a pointed flag. The device shall be two concentric circles, the inner one red and the other one white, on a blue field. The hoist shall be two thirds of the extreme length. The centers of the circles shall be one quarter of the distance from the hoist to the tip. The diameter of the white circle shall be one half the hoist and the diameter of the red circle one quarter of the hoist.
[...]

Article 5: Insignia.
Section 1: Insignia is defined as the Burgee or other logos or devices as the Club may use for identification of MYC.
Section 2: Only Club members may fly the Club burgee or wear the Club insignia. No person shall use the Club burgee or insignia for business or professional purposes.
