Description of the flag

Amherst is a county in southwest Virginia, just north of the city of Lynchburg. I wrote to the county clerk asking about the design of the county flag, and this is what was sent back to me:

"The Amherst County flag was adopted approximately two years ago by the County. Its' design was a result of the recommendations from the County Administrator to the Board of Supervisors."
