The municipal flag of the city of Georgetown consists of the city seal on a white field. It looks to me like the star locates the city in Texas, and the purple lines may represent two rivers that meet in Georgetown.

Georgetown, Texas, is northeast of Austin, and so, roughly speaking, in the south-central part of the state. The San Gabriel River, formed by the confluence of the North and South forks of the San Gabriel, flows through the town. However, while the lines seem to represent the course of the river, they are not to scale with the illustration of the state. In other words, the rivers do not run the length of Texas, but are in fact much shorter.
