Description of the flag

From http://auditor.co.hancock.oh.us/flagpage.pdf :

The Hancock County flag was designed by M. Sean Risser of Findlay in honor of the Centennial Celebration of the Hancock County Courthouse. The design has the following symbolism:
The red, white and blue colors were chosen in respect to the national flag with red representing courage, white for purity and blue for justice, along with the addition of gold symbolizing quality. The triangle on the left side depicts the same design as on the Ohio State flag. The seventeen stars represent Ohio being the seventeenth state admitted to the Union. The stars also represent each of the seventeen townships in Hancock County. The circular stripe encloses three regions to indicate the past, present and future of Hancock County. The stripe was designed as a continuing border to represent the permanence of our system of government. Within this stripe, the plant symbol indicates the importance of agriculture, the building symbolizes the business and industrial community and the figures signify the service provided to the residents of Hancock County.
