The flag is a a full fledged county map with white county territory and green
neighbouring areas, showing the main settlements and rivers, and decorated at
the lower fly with a cow and corn ear and at the lower hoist with a fence and
two pheasants. All across the white square the lettering "Madison County".

The new Madison County flag was adopted by the board of Commissioners August
of 2001.
