The Gonfalon

"It was confirmed in March, 24th, 1999 by the decision #76 of VI city council session of XXIII convocation. Square panel consists of two equal horizontal strips - yellow and blue; top yellow is divided half-and-half vertically. In the staff field are crossed red-and-yellow horn of plenty with fruits and Mercury's staff. In the free edge field are three green oak leaves, two over one; in the bottom blue field on a green embowed base runs to the staff grey wolf with red eyes and tongue.
Oak leaves symbolize, that the city has arisen among dense oak groves."

"It was confirmed in March, 24th, 1999 by the decision #76 of VI city council session of XXIII convocation. Per fess; or, crossed red-and-or horn of plenty with fruits and Mercury's staff; azure, argent wolf with gules eyes and tongue on the vert hill. The shield enframed by or cartouche and crowned by argent urban crown with three prongs. The author is A.Grechylo.
The arms is reconstructed on the basis of the 1781 old city sign. The top field specifies an arrangement of city in the Kharkivs'ka oblast'. The wolf is denominative symbol.
