Heraldry:
"It was confirmed at September, 16th, 2003 by the decision
of X city council extraordinary session of XXI convocation. A
rectangular crimson panel with a parity of width to the length
1:2. In the middle of it are horizontal wavy white and blue
strips (the width of a wave equals to 1/13 width of a flag). In
the top corner from a staff is a board with the city arms (height
of it equals to 1/3 width of a flag).

"On the 29th of September 1992 city council session
confirmed a modern emblem. In an azure field there was an arm
holding an or mace."

"For the first time it was mentioned in 1107. In January
1591 king Sigizmund III granted the Magdeburg Right, a seal and
an emblem with a picture of an arm with a dagger and a bear's
head in base. Since 1658 it was a regimental town."
