From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed in March, 15th, 2001 by the decision N11 of XIV village council session of III convocation. Per pale on azure and vert. Or paty cross; under it are crossed or key (with bit to bottom) and a sword (with edge to upwards). The shield enframed by or cartouche and crowned by or village crown. The author is A.Grechylo.
The key and sword symbolize ancient church Peter and Paul which now does not exist, but has begun well-known history of a monastic complex. The cross personifies modern Krehiv and specifies it as an outstanding religious center. Vert means woods and riches of the nature.

"The village is known by ancient monastery. According to legends, the monastery was found by monks of Kyiv-Pechers'k Laurels Ioil and Sylvestr. They have lodged in cutted cells in a rock which has received the name "Ioil Rock", and on its top have built a Virgin chapel and Peter and Paul's chapel. See: <www.castles.com.ua>. "
