From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed in May, 14th, 1998 by the decision N41 of I city council session of II convocation. Square panel, in the top corner from a staff on a blue square part (the size of it is equal to 1/3 width of the gonfalon) is white salt furnace, in the bottom corner from free edge on the blue square part is white city arch with three towers and the open yellow gate, from a staff and from the top edge are two white rectangular fields."

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed in May, 14th, 1998 by the decision N41 of I city council session of II convocation. Azure; argent city arch with three towers (on everyone are three loopholes) and the open or gate, in which is argent salt furnace. The shield enframed by or cartouche and crowned by argent urban crown with three prongs. The author is A.Grechylo.
City arch appeared on city stamps in XVI century. Salt furnace specifies the old name of settlement (Horodok Solyanyi - "Salt town") and value of salt trade in the development of city. Azure means local lakes.

The Town

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"Appeared in the days of Kyiv Rus'. The first mention refers to 1213. The name has its origin from the word combination "salt town", because of the trade with salt. In 1389 Magdeburg Right was given by king Yagailo."
