The Royal Yacht's Flag (B.E.2440) [1897 AD]
This is a red flag with a white elephant - in full caparison - standing on a dias [sic, probably "dais"] facing the flagpole.
In accordance with a Royal Command issued by King Rama I [1782-1809 AD], the flag was originally designed in the form of a red flag with a white "chakkra" in the middle denoting the Royal Yacht. Later on, in B.E.2440 [1897 AD], the design was changed — by the Royal command of King Rama V — to emerge as the version seen here. This version has been in use until B.E.2460 [1917 AD].

Note that it is almost identical to the War Ensign 1891-1917, rather than to the royal yachts ensign image at the top.

Those two descriptions —red flag with white chakra and red flag with white elephant— look strikingly similar to the national flag up to 1855 and War Ensign 1891-1917.
