Description

According to the Dhammakaya Foundation website:

The Golden Dhammakaya Cetiya at the center represents the Triple Gems, the refuge for all human beings.
The Red Inner Square symbolizes the sun at dawn meaning the absolute Truth (the buddha's teaching) that will bring peace and true happiness to mankind.
The White Outer square represents the world peace that occurs after mankind experiences a true happiness through inner peace.
The flag is similar to the image by Ivan Sache but, as described, the field is red, the pagod saffron / gold and the flag has a white border. The ratio is ca. 5:8 and the border about 15% of the hoist.

Flag Variant

[Dhammakaya Foundation, variant (Thailand)] 1:2
by Ivan Sache

A paper in Courrier International, translated from Asiaweek (Bangkok) is illustrated by a picture of the Dhammakaya pagod, in the North of Bangkok. The picture shows the pagod in the background, monks in meditation in front of it and two identical flags in foreground. Identification of the flag is quite easy from the picture. The flag is a 1:2 saffron field with the solid silhouette of the pagod in yellow.
