The flag and coat of arms of Trbovlje are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Občine Trbovlje, adopted on 27 May 1996, and published in the official local gazette Uradni vestnik Zasavja, 9/1996.
The flag of Trbovlje is 1:2 in ratio, derived from the coat of arms. It consists of a light blue field at the upper part and a green stripe along the lower edge, both being separated by a relatively thin black stripe that has a triangular "hatch" in the fly part.
