The flag and arms of Gorenja vas-Poljane are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi, adopted on 10 April 1997 and published on 29 April 1997 in the local regional gazette Uradni vestnik Gorenjske, 25/97.
The flag of Gorenja vas-Poljane is in proportion 2:5, with a white stripe along the top while the rest is vertically divided into blue at hoist and green at fly, with the municipal coat of arms fimbriated white set in the middle.
Roger Gogala [gog02] provides detailed construction directions for the flag. The coat of arms is made of a rectangle with width a and height 3a/4 and of a semicircle with radius a/2. The triangle is rectangular, with the distance of the charges from the vertical edges a/4. The flag is 1:2.5. The white stripe is 1/4 of the width, the remainder is divided into blue and green in halves. The top edge of the coat of arms is set to touch the white stripe and the fimbriation is 1/25 of the flag width. The coat of arms is set so that the vertex of the white triangle matches the center of the flag.
