Coat of arms of Bovec - Image by Željko Heimer
The emblem used as the coat of arms by the municipality of Bovec
shows a chamois in jump over a mountain partially covered with snow
with a river flowing from it.
According to Roger Gogala (op. cit.), it symbolizes the Bovec canyon (Bovška kotlina), the valleys of Trenta and Koritnica rivers and the high mountains of the municipality. The S shaped river representsts the river Soča (in Italian, Isonzo).
