Beltinci is a municipality in Prekmurje (north-eastern part of Slovenia), best known to postage stamp collectors as the place where one of the 1918 provisionals were overprinted by the Serb occupation forces on the Hungarian stamps. Today there is also a significant Roma minority living there.
Željko Heimer, 15 September 2003
The flag and coat of arms of Beltinci are prescribed by Decision Odlok o uporabi grba in zastave Občine Beltinci, adopted on 13 February 2003, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 46/2003. The Decision is also available on the municipal website.
The flag is horizontally divided blue-yellow with the coat of arms placed near the hoist. The coat of arms is vertically placed in the middle of the flag and horizontally offset to the hoist, so that the distance from the hoist to the coat of arms is the same as the width of the coat of arms.
In the vertical version of the flag the coat of arms is rotated and placed near the top of the flag. The center of the coat of arms is approximately placed one third of the flag height from the top (the prescribed distance is 33,5%). The yellow stripe is to the viewer's left.
