Voodoo flag

It appears that there is a flag of voodoo recognized in west Africa. The flag is a simple white square. The flag may be flown over any home where the people follow the Voodoo faith, but is commonly flown over the homes of Voodoo priests and at religious celebrations. The color white represents purity and goodness and is normally seen as the "Voodoo" color in much the same way that green is seen as the Muslim color. This flag is used in west Africa where the religion was born, I don't know if there is a Voodoo flag for any of the Voodoo communities outside west Africa.

Of course, I'm talking about the actual religion of Voodoo practiced in Benin, Togo, and Ghana. It's a religion that has nothing whatsoever to do with the nonsense produced by Hollywood. This information comes from the now out-of-print book "Voodoo: Africa's Secret Power," and the flag in mentioned in the Loney Planet guide to west Africa.
