Sulêcin county flag (proposal#1)

[Sulecin county flagproposal#1] by Jens Pattke, 1 Feb 2003

I send two proposals of the county flag of Sulecin County in the voivodship of Lubuskie. Sulencin have the former German name "Zielenzig".

The County Council decided on a white flag with coat of arms of Sulecin County. The Polish Heraldic Commission had turned down the proposal and recommended a light blue field in the middle of white cloth. The County rejected the idea of the commission and applied for the authorization of the completely white flag with CoA to the Department of Interior. A decision of
departement was not yet been taken as yet.

The white color of the flag had her origin in the city flag of the Sulecin Town. Also the coat of arms combined coat of arms of Sulecin Town (the lamb) and the CoA of the historic region of Wielkopolskie (the eagle).

Sulêcin commune flag

[Sulecin flag] by Jarig Bakker, 11 Jun 2002

Sulecin is the seat of Sulecin county, Lubuskie vojvodship; a photo of the flag is at this website - a white bedsheet with the CoA in the center; on the flag the shield color is blue, while the CoA on that webpage has a black background.
The German name was Zielenzig; Ralf Hartemink's explanation:
"The arms show a Paschal Lamb (Agnus Dei), the symbol of St. John. The city was a possession of the Knights of St. John from 1350-1810. The municipality uses the arms both with and without the green ground in the base of the shield.
Jarig Bakker, 11 Jun 2002

It's a white lamb on a black shield on a white bedsheet. The lighting on the photo must have been off...
