Commander in Chief of the Navy rank flag

[Navy CinC rank flag]
image by Željko Heimer, 02 Nov 2002

According to Album 2000 [pay00], 2:3 white flag with red border and in the middle a black anchor and four yellow Suns, one in each corner. Similar, but not quite the same flag was shown in Flaggenbuch [neu39] for the Minister of War, but I guess this is not more then coincidence. The 1995 Album [pie95] shows the flag with the same elements but arranged differently.

as of 1995

[Navy CinC rank flag 95]
image by Željko Heimer, 04 Nov 2002

According to Album 1995 [pie95], ≅5:7 white flag with red border and a black anchor near the hoist and four golden Suns arranged in diamond in fly. Album 2000 [pay00] shows a flag with the same elements but differently arranged. Is this an earlier version, misreported / misinterpreted image or some entirely other flag (e.g. of a Full Admiral), I can only speculate.

Chief of Naval Staff rank flag

[Navy CinC rank flag]

According to Album 2000 [pay00], 2:3 white flag with red border and near the hoist a black anchor and in the fly three yellow Suns in rising “semidiagonal”. Flaggenbuch [neu39] does not include a matching flag, but 1995 Album [pie95] does have this one, but in ratio ≅5:7.
Željko Heimer, 02 Nov 2002 and 04 Nov 2002

Admiral

Natn’l Geo.1917 [gmc17] says that there is no flag for Full Admiral, Flaggenbuch [neu39] also, as well as the two Album issues ([pay00] and [pie95]). However, Rank Insignia site (www.rankinsignia.cz, broken link as of 22 Feb 2005, Ivan Sache) shows that there is indeed the rank of full Admiral in Peruan Navy, even if that may be: (a) relatively new and (b) theoretical and ceremonial only. The question is if there exists just as (a) relatively new and (b) ceremonial and theoretical only matching flag. The four star flag shown for CinC Navy in Album 1995 might be one such flag (possibly misreported for CinC-N back then).
