Lekstroom Transport BV

One of the household names casually mentioned in “Duwvaart” by Jansen & Van Heck – of course they cover only one kind of carrier in inland navigation – is Lekstroom on p. 127.  Their push boats are listed as belonging to W.D. Eerland & Zoon at Lekkerkerk and a flag is shown in b/w described as orange with a blue funnel bearing ‘EL’ in white.  This funnel is rendered as a rectangle.
Company website of Lekstroom Transport BV (reduced English version available):
Named after the River Lek, the firm operates a fleet of push or towboats and pontoons and is able to coordinate combined road-water transport including heavy goods; towage is another more traditional activity.
On of the ‘dossiers’ (files) on the site is a piece on the company centenary and what follows is a summary.
Established in 1898 by W.D. Eerland owning one barge and expanding e.g. by having a motor ship built.   In the twenties the ‘Scheepvaart Maatschappij Lekstroom’ (Shipping Co. Lekstroom) is founded operating a transport ship carrying almost anything.  During WW II some ships are  seized; ‘W.D. Eerland & Zoon’ is founded and transformed in 1981 into ‘Lekstroom Transport BV’.  Heavy goods in transport are always good for spectacular sights, witness the many pictures and a few videos, these last under ‘media’.
Clicking ‘vloot’ (fleet) leads to a number of photos, one of which shows the Lekstroom XV being the source of the image.
No orange flag here but a white one with a distinct blue funnel shape and the firm’s initials leaning together as shown on the website. Here is a Tugspotter page showing the Lekstroom V and of course the white flag:
At the moment I have no idea when exactly the orange flag went out of use (above book was published in 1988).

On the flag site is mentioned the most recent company flag from Lekstroom Transport BV.
This is not correct. We still use the flag in blue and white.

An orange version has just shown up on the Binnenvaart site. Please have a quick look as this list changes (almost) every day and older items are pushed away for newer ones. This resembles the white version. The letters are orange however, so the plot thickens.
