Amer Shipping

‘Amer Shipping BV’ is a shipping company and freighting agency located in Raamsdonksveer in the South of the Netherlands, named after the local river.
As explained on the firm’s website, it has an inland fleet of its own made up of barges and pushboats plus partially owned vessels and barges under contract, in all about 35 units. A family business, it recognizes the necessity of a concensus between the firm and the private shippers involved when accepting freight. In principle all bulk goods are transported e.g. sand, gravel, coal, ore, heavy and special loads, etc.

In the ‘De schepen’ (ships) section of above site the house flag can be dimly made out, at least in some cases,  and also in the ‘Kantoor’ (office) section under ‘Amer Shipping’.  But who cares, since the firm presents its house flag so well?  Just click ‘De vlag’ (the flag) under ‘Amer Shipping’.

Translated quote: “Amer Shipping’s flag radiates a dynamic attitude. The Dutch tricolour accompanied by a powerful wave movement, symbolizing a ship under sail. In the upper right corner is placed the signal for the letter ‘A’, the ‘A’ of Amer Shipping!”

Under the flag image, some additional photos continue to appear. It should be added that the wave, at the bottom of a red field, is largely blue with a white crest and that the firm’s name is rendered in bold white letters, ‘AMER’ in the upper part, next to the ‘A’ signal flag, and rendered much larger than ‘SHIPPING’.

Amer Shipping also operates ‘Combi International BV’ which is responsible for marketing the vessels which the mother firm wants to sell (perhaps one of the two flags in front of the office is really Combi’s?).

A variant of the above, this flag has the word ‘COMBI’ is placed inside the blue wave - much higher this time - and a small white oval is placed above it.  I think the use of the ‘~’ sign is justified as this flag seems to be flying on ‘MVS Cofelica’, here.
