Alphen en Chaam is a merger of the former municipalities of Alphen en Riel, Chaam and a parts of Nieuw Ginneken (Galder and Strijbeek) (The rest of Nieuw Ginneken - Bavel and Ulvenhout - went to Breda) (1 Jan 1997). It has 9.486 inhabitants on 93,55 km2. This flag was instituted on 19 Oct 1949 by municipal resolution. The colors do not agree with the munipal CoA.
