Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 16.134; area: 10,18 km². Settlements:
Nederweert (seat), Budschop, Leveroy, Nederweert-Eind, Ospel, Ospeldijk,
Schoor.
The flag of Nederweert was adopted by municipal resolution on 24 Aug
1973. Description: three horizontal wavy stripes of blue, white, and green,
proportioned 3:2:3 - overall proportions 2:3". The wavy bars have been
chosen because they occur in the municpal arms, where the white bar symbolizes
the small Leubeek river.
