Overasselt was a separate municipality until it merged with Heumen

west of Heumen, with (1968) 3.000 inhabitants in the settlements Overasselt
(seat), Worsem, Nederasselt, Keent, Balgooi, Valenberg, Heide. It is in
the "Rijk van Nijmegen", the region in Gelderland between the Maas and

1925 that whole area was flooded, with in Overasselt a breach in the dike
of 125 meters.
