The green flag with the yellow saltire is the present flag. The logoflag
was only temporary.

The flag of the former municipality of Gasselte in Drenthe, Netherlands.
Since 1 Jan 1998 part of the municipality of Aa en Hunze.
The ship reminds of the shipping on the Hunze river, especially since
the 17th century; in 1913 35 expensive seaships had their homeport in Gasselternijeveen,
but nowadays the Hunze can't be passed by ships over 120 tonnes BRT. Flag
adopted 1 Aug 1965.

Rolde is since 1 Jan 1999 part of the municipality of Aa en Hunze.
This flag was adopted 9 February 1962 by the municipal council of Rolde.
The colors were derived from the municipal CoA. Sword and cross symbolize
Justice; Rolde had an important place in the old institution of 'Etstoel'
(Scandinavian: 'Thing). Alternative (older) name for municipality
in Drenthe was 'dingspel'. The position of the sword seems strange:
normally the point of the sword is directed towards the hoist
