Nicaragua got 15 departements (departamentos):
- Boaco

- Chontales

I've never seen or heard about sub-national flags in Nicaragua but I suspect they exist

Autonomous Regions of RAAN and RAAS

Note: RAAN adopted a flag - See: Region Autonomo - Atlantico Norte

As I stated in my ponence at the spanish congress of vexillology on November 1998 - the Nicaraguayan autonomous regions of RAAN and RAAS (Regiones Autonomistas - Atlantico Norte and Atlantico Sur) didn't officially adopted a flag. Howevher I received today information about the first "official" proposal. I hope that more informations will follow in the next months

Corn Islands

The Corn Islands were originally leased on August 5, 1914 by the United States on August 5, 1914. The islands were under US laws and admistration (hence the Interior Department's inclusion of them in the territory listing). The lease was mutually terminated on April 25, 1971.
