Description

The 3 stripes on the Perak flag represent the 3 branches of the Perak royal family. The white stripe represents the Sultan, the yellow stripe represents the Raja Muda or Prince and the black stripe represents the Raja Di Hilir. In the Perak government, the Raja Muda will replace the Sultan and the Raja Di Hilir will replace the Raja Muda.

Flaggenbuch 1939 [neu39] shows the national flag of Perak as horizontally white-yellow-black, similar to current one.

According to the Flaggenbuch, the British Resident to Perak used a swallow-tailed version of the Sultan's flag, while those to Selangor and Negeri-Sembilan both flew a swallow-tailed version of the civil flag
("landesflagge"), but no others are shown or listed.
