The emblem of the Socialist People's Party is an eagle rising to the heights, because the eagle is the symbol of the ancient tribes of Mexico. It carries the motto "¡Viva México!", the expression used by the 1810 insurgentes.
Santiago Dotor, 15 June 1999.
