Municipal flag of Demir Kapija - Image by Ivan Sache, 3 February 2002
Demir Kapija (4,815 inhabitants in 1994) is a town located near the Gates of the same name. Those gates are cliffs among which the river Vardar is swiftly passing. In the past, the gates had an extremely important role as the passage from continental Europe to the Aegean plains, the railway being just one of the possible means of passage, but certainly the main of them.

The municipal flag of Demir Kapija is in proportion 3:5, yellow with the municipal emblem shifted to the hoist.
The emblem shows the local landscape with mountains, a river and a railway, lit by a sun similar to the one on the Macedonian national flag placed in a blue sky. A red scroll stretching over the basis of the shield bears the city name.
