Chief of Staff of Naval Air Force: Broad pennant (1:2) vertically divided green-white-red with a yellow star in canton
Images marked with * are reconstruction based on text-only description.
Ivan Sache, 28 Jun 1999

Swallow-tailed triangular pennant vertically divided in unequal stripes of green-white-red, with yellow five-pointed star(s) in canton. Image shows one-star flag, while note in Album2000 explains that there should be as many stars to match the rank of the CNS.

Correction No. 29 of Album 1990 describes three possibilities of the rank:
1 star - in Album unspecified rank, presumably commodore?
2 stars - Rear Admiral
3 stars - Vice Admiral
Is 3-stars maximum for the Madagascar navy?
Željko Heimer, 21 May 2002

One star: any non-flag officer (no matter what is his rank).
Armand Noel du Payrat, 23 May 2002
