Stylized kanji Taka of Takanezawa in the shape of bird which stands for
development. The upper part of emblem represents mountains and the lower part
the three rivers in the city.
size of emblem is 3/5 of width.

The kanji Taka is 高 (tall). My understanding is that the lower
(circular) part also represents harmony among the townspeople. The emblem was
adopted at the same time as the flag.
