The International Criminal Court, a new judicial organ established to try war
criminals and other offenders, recently replied to an e-mail I sent regarding a
flag and seal.
Sean McKinniss, 17 March 2003
Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for visiting the website and for your suggestions.
The ICC will study and analyze proposals regarding logos and flags in the next
future. This information will be posted on the website.
Kind Regards,
Valentina Cosimati
The source of the flag shown here does not attribute the source, does not it
as a flag, which it does with some of its entries for other entities. It is
slightly confusing, however, because it is in the same position for that entry
as the flags are for other entries.
It doesn't appear as a flag in any of the photographs of the most recent
sessions of the Assembly of States Parties, covered on the International
Criminal Court web site, where may be seen numerous photographs of the member
states flags in the background - the usual sort of thing for international
meetings. Neither does it appear as a free search using the term "flag" on their
site, neither is it listed in the information contained within the 'press and
media' section of their web site.
The status of this flag is considered uncertain.
