Description

Regional Council Matte-Asher (homepage here) is situated between the Lebanese border in the North and the Krayot area in the south, ranging from the sea coast in the west and the western Galilee ridge (Karmiel-Ma'alot line) in the east. Altogether 31 settlements with 18,000 inh. I got a black and white logo which I coloured according to instructions given by Mrs. Sima Shim'oni of the Regional Library:

  1. Brown aqueduct (representing the beutiful Ottoman aqueduct connecting Kabri springs and Akko)
  2. Green tree
  3. Light blue waves
  4. Blue inscription
  5. White background
Source: E-mail from Mrs. Sima Shim'oni, Regional Library, 21 August 2001.

The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), YP 3832, 3 January 1991.

Confirmed as emblem on white. The brown colour sems to me more reddish than mine. Source: author's own observation, 29 September 2001.
