Regional Council Gilboa is situated between Afula and Bet-She'an, on the northern feet of Mount Gilboa. Est. 1949. Pop. 21,000 in 31 settlements (first settlement in 1921). The unofficial municipal flag is light blue with black emblem and no inscription. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 631, 30 October 1958. Sources: author's own observation, 2 October 2001.

Dov Gutterman, 13 October 2001

Mrs. Anat Mor, Regional Council spokeswoman sent me the emblem and wrote to me 30 October 2001 as follows:

  1. RC Gilboa has no official flag authorised by the authority's council and published according to the Emblems Protection Act [correct about the flag, but the emblem is official].
  2. Therefore, the RC tends to use the council emblem by printing it [actually in black] in the centre of fabric [actually blue one] in case of need.
