Migdal ha'Emek (meaning tower of the valley) is situated on the Nazareth Mounts, about 10 km from Nazareth, on both sides of the Haifa-Nazareth road, 30 km southeast of Haifa. The city looks over the Jizrael vally, hence the name. Est. 1953, pop. 25,000.
The unofficial flag shows the emblem on a monochrome field. I received a white desk flag, but I would not be surprised to find other backgrounds. The letter I received mentioned 1965 as the adoption date, however the municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 1001, 28 March 1963, for the then Local Council Migdal ha'Emek. Sources: letter from Ms. Andrea Edri, chief of the municipal general manager bureau, 4 August 2001; desk flag; this webpage.
